Nine Mile Residence

This home, constructed of concrete logs, was designed to complete a natural cirque that occurs on the site. The form of the house and the hill of the cirque work together to shelter a special outdoor place; a secret garden for the homeowners.

The homes energy efficient features coupled with its renewable energy systems allow it to achieve net-zero energy use. The house utilizes low VOC materials, a ground source heat pump system, solar voltaic panels, passive solar heating, a super insulated roof and wall system, and triple pane windows.
